After a wonderful sailing season, full steam ahead at the shipyard
On Monday, 27 October 2025, our ships returned to port for the last time this year. We look back on a fantastic season in which the entire fleet sailed extensively — often in glorious weather conditions!🌞
Now that all the yachts are safely back in port, our focus is shifting. Over the coming months, we will be working hard on maintenance and implementing many improvements so that our guests can enjoy carefree sailing trips again next year. And we are kicking off this winter season with one of our popular ships: the Andreas!
New Iveco engine: more power, quieter and more economical
This year's biggest upgrade is undoubtedly the new 6-cylinder Iveco engine with no less than 150 hp. It replaces the reliable 120 hp Ford engine, which has served us faithfully for many years. Joren and Peter have now dismantled the Ford and hoisted it out of the ship.
The new engine not only offers extra power, but also more peace and quiet on board:
- Quieter running, thanks to modern technology
- Lower fuel consumption
- More torque, wonderfully comfortable sailing at low revs
With this upgrade, the Andreas will sail more quietly and comfortably than ever before this coming season.
Stronger bow thruster for even better manoeuvrability
Last year, we equipped the Andreas with a powerful stern thruster, and now the ship is also getting a new, more powerful bow thruster.
This provides optimal control when mooring or manoeuvring in narrower harbours — a big plus for both experienced and novice skippers.
New double-glazed windows, better insulation and more ventilation!
A significant upgrade is the replacement of the old single-glazed ship windows with aluminium profiles. These are being replaced by modern TOPwindows ship windows with plastic profiles and double glazing.
The advantages of this upgrade:
- Better insulation – less heat loss in the early and late seasons
- Less condensation – clear visibility at all times
- Additional hinged window in the saloon – easier ventilation on hot days
Fully painted – ready for a fresh start in March 2026
In addition to all these technical upgrades, the Andreas will also be completely repainted.
